Throughout my life, my happiest memories are of the time I spend with my family, snorkeling or surfing, in the ocean. I was born and raised in Uruguay, a small South American country with hundreds of kilometers of coast. When I realized that we humans are destroying the most diverse, mysterious, and largest environment on the planet, I realized I could not remain complacent. Four years ago I made the decision to pursue a degree in Marine Biology at Florida International University (FIU), and build a career with the ultimate goal to preserve species and protect the ecosystems of the seas with scientific evidence-based conservation methods. My entrepreneurial spirit motivated me to link both of my passions: business and environmentalism and I have now secured a job in management consulting, hoping to become a sustainability consultant.
